Biography

Joe Massaro, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Biostatistics at Boston University School of Public Health, focusing on the teaching of statistical methods for clinical trials. He is also Senior Statistical Consultant at Harvard Clinical Research Institute, an academic Contract Research Organization providing services to sponsors of medical devices and pharmaceutical products. Dr. Massaro has over 20 years experience in the design and statistical analysis of clinical trials, and has co-authored several clinical trials-related articles. He is co-editor in chief of the recently published Encyclopedia of Clinical Trials. Dr. Massaro also performs epidemiological statistical analysis for the Framingham Heart Study, assessing risk factors for cardiovascular disease and dementia.
