Senior Programmer Analyst
HCRI is expanding and is looking for a Senior Programmer Analyst to assist with its growth. The Analyst will provide strong programming support and leadership to clinical and administrative information systems development and/or implementation through the move into production environment and help to provide technical support to end users and systems analysts as appropriate once system is in production. Additional responsibilities may include program specifications development; building of tables and dictionaries; program coding; test plan development and testing; and ongoing maintenance and support of code base. This person will be regarded as expert programming resource either for an application and/or programming language.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Participate in the development and implementation of program design decisions; tailors application code in conjunction with system analyst to meet unique requirements
2. Participate/lead in the build of code, tables and dictionaries for systems.
3. Participate/lead, as the senior programming resource, in procedure development for, and troubleshooting of, foreign systems interfaces.
4. Participate/lead the development and execution of unit and system test plans, as well as validating code and database integrity.
5. Analyze and help resolve program code problems.
6. Create/modify code and/or database interfaces to meet unique requirements.
7. Develop “expert” level knowledge of system operations and interface usage.
8. Participate/lead in development/conversion planning and coding for designated application(s).
9. Insure ongoing post-conversion/implementation product support for the IS department.
10. Adhere to all applicable HCRI Standard Operating Procedures and relevant regulatory requirements
11. On-call support
Qualifications/Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
ï�� Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience preferred
� Strong knowledge of current programming languages (e.g. Visual Basic, C, C#, C++), mark up languages (HTML, XML) code management systems (SourceSafe)
ï�� Strong knowledge of MS OS’s (WIN2000, XP, Vista, Server 2003)
� Strong knowledge of database concepts and design, especially Oracle and/or SQLServer
� Strong program testing and verification skills.
� Clinical healthcare experience preferred
ï�� Working knowledge of ClinTrace™, DsNavigator™, and/or InForm™ is highly desirable
� .NET experience a plus
� Experience using project management tools preferred
� Ability to be flexible, versatile and adaptable in day-to-day activities
� 3-5 years experience in the automation of departmental or enterprise-wide systems
� PC skills required, knowledge of PC applications, e.g., Microsoft Office Suite; MS Project, Visio and Power Point preferred
� Ability to work in and potentially lead a team environment
� Effective Verbal and Written Communication Skills
